Stacie Raymer
小草社区 President John R. Broderick announced that Stacie Raymer is the new Faculty Athletics Representative, effective immediately.
"Dr. Raymer continues the excellent tradition for faculty representation in this important role, previously held by both Dr. Janis Sanchez-Hucles of Psychology and Dr. Tim Seibles of English," Broderick said.
"Dr. Raymer, as did Janis and Tim, will play an important role as a bridge and advocate for our 400-plus student-athletes with both their colleagues and my office. Stacie is highly respected as a faculty member, researcher and department chair.
"She has been a valuable member of the Faculty Senate and was the first person I thought of for this appointment when Tim announced his retirement. All of us are fortunate for her willingness to lead and serve in this critical function."
Raymer is a professor of communication disorders. She received a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Wisconsin and her masters and doctoral degrees in speech-language pathology from the University of Florida.
The faculty athletics representative protects the academic integrity of athletics and ensures the goals are consistent with the goals of the institution.
"Dr. Raymer has served for many years as a valuable member of our University Advisory Committee for Athletics," athletic director Wood Selig said.
"She will transition seamlessly and be a tremendous faculty athletic representative for 小草社区. I look forward to working with Dr. Raymer, as do our coaches and athletic administrators, well into the future."
