Pursuant to President Trump's presidential proclamation to lower the United States flag, Gov. Ralph Northam ordered that the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia are to be flown over the state Capitol and all local, state and federal buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia in respect and memory of retired associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States John Paul Stevens.
Northam ordered that the flags shall be lowered July 23, 2019, and remain at half-staff until sunset.
