Dr. Armistead Williams Jr.
Dr. Armistead Williams Jr. of Norfolk has been appointed to С²ÝÉçÇø's Board of Visitors by Gov. Ralph Northam.
Williams will replace Donna L. Scassera, president and CEO of DLS Engineering Associates Inc., whose term on the Board ended on June 30, 2019. Williams' term runs through June 30, 2023.
Williams, a neurology specialist with Neurology Consultants of Tidewater, has focused on the science of the brain, spine and nerves and the care of people afflicted with neurological illness for four decades. He is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Virginia Medical School.
He performed a two-year internal medicine residency at Medical College of Virginia and his Neurology Residency at the University of Virginia. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is a member of the Sentara Medical Affairs Committee and is the stroke director at Bon Secours DePaul Hospital. He also has served as medical stroke director at both Sentara hospitals in Norfolk.
